Function of the SS-01 System

The steel plate with the closed cylinder is set on the manhole opening and installed into the asphalt layer.  While the asphalt is still warn, the cylinder is exposed and pulled to the level of the asphalt layer with a hook.  Asphalt that is still warm is applied underneath the support ring. The roller afterwards automatically positions the cylinder, which can be moved vertically, at the right height.

After completion of the asphalt layers, the cover of the cylinder will be removed. The drill and excavation technology of the Shark machine makes it possible to drill centrically and automatically excavate the SS-01 System including the asphalt drill core in only about 10 minutes.
